Hi, I’m Scott—a former paramedic turned pasta-obsessed home cook, happily married into an Italian family and learning the culinary ropes one handmade noodle at a time. I’m also a dad to two amazing college-aged daughters: one’s a theater kid with whom I share a deep love of punk rock, and the other’s a former competitive gymnast about to take on college as a track and field star. They keep me grounded, laughing, and honest about my seasoning..

This blog—and the Adopted by Pasta cookbook it’s tied to—isn’t about being perfect in the kitchen. It’s about family, tradition, travel, and the joy of discovering that love really can be made from scratch.
Together, we’ve explored Italy from top to toe: sipping wine in the north, rolling pasta in the center, and getting spicy in the south. Each region has its own flavor, and I’m doing my best to cook (and tell) my way through all of them. You’ll find recipes, stories, and probably a few flour-dusted dad jokes along the way.
If you’ve ever fallen in love with Italian food—or just with someone who knows how to make it—welcome. You’ve been Adopted by Pasta, too.
